COSTA RICA > Our home is located in Tres Rios de Osa. The kitchen includes a large island with a double sink, custom wood cabinets, modern appliances, and granite countertops. The two level wraparound bar also has a sink. If you love to cook, you will love this kitchen.
GUATEMALA > The project is a textile producing cooperative, composed by widows and orphans from the 36 years of civil war. They produce bags, clothes, table clothes, etc. with traditional symbols but with different colors. Currently it has 30 weavers, including several elderly.
GUATEMALA > The project provides a school and open home serving children. Its work revolves around the human rights and children’s rights established by the International Convention. They aim to prevent at-risk youth from turning to the street and to stimulate their development by strengthening their family relationships.
GUATEMALA > The organization works within the Mayan Q’eqchi region, focused on developing their communities by providing access to education and healthcare as well as supporting micro-enterprise efforts. They offer a national and international recognized mixed school system which consists of a middle school, a three-year vocational high school, a rural and secondary boarding school.
GUATEMALA > The project’s mission is to empower and improve the quality of life for Maya women artisans and their families and to contribute to the preservation and promotion of traditional knowledge, art and culture in Guatemala.
GUATEMALA > The organization consists of a daycare center for disabled children. There they offer rehabilitation, physiotherapy, speech therapy, special education and psychology therapy. People arrive on a daily basis at the organization to ask for help and orientation.
GUATEMALA > Over 70 children attend both regular classes based on the curriculum, and extra-curricular classes based on arts and skills. On weekends the parents of children attending the school are also given the opportunity to study as part of their literacy program.
