ASIA / Youth International
Youth International is an experiential learning program that combines rugged international travel, cultural exchange, community service, outdoor adventure, and home stays. The Asia program travels through Nepal, India, and Thailand.
The Asia program dates are:
Fall 2018: September 12 to December 11, 2018.
Spring 2019: February 27 to May 28, 2019.
Preference will be given to candidates who are able to commit to leading in both the fall and spring semesters.
Responsibilities:
– Develop portions of the trip plans.
– Train participants during portions of the team orientation session.
– Manage day-to-day logistics and budget while on the road.
– Mentor and counsel teams members through developing world learning experiences and personal growth.
– Implement experiential learning and reflection strategies.
– Develop and maintain healthy team dynamics.
– Uphold Youth International’s mission and policies.
– Lead the team by example during a variety of community service projects, cultural activities, and outdoor adventure programs.
Required Qualifications:
– Extensive experience traveling, living, studying, volunteering, or working in the countries where the group travels.
– Professional experience working with and leading groups (preferably with high school or college-age students).
– Current certifications in Standard First Aid and Adult CPR (Wilderness First Responder preferred), prior to departure.

– Effective organization and logistical skills.
– Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
– Strong mentorship and leadership skills.
– Understanding of experiential learning methods.
