SOUTH AMERICA ASIA / Youth International

Interested in leading a semester abroad program through Asia or South America?

Youth International is an experiential learning program that combines rugged international travel, cultural exchange, community service, outdoor adventure, and home stays with local families. Groups of up to 14 people, between the ages of 18 and 25, travel together with two experienced leaders for three months.

The Asia program travels through Nepal, India, and Thailand. The South America program travels through Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador. Please see the daily itineraries posted on www.youthinternational.org for full details of the program.

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to commit to leading the same program in both the fall 2015 semester and the spring 2016 semester. The program dates are:

Asia Fall 2015: September 15 to December 14, 2015
Asia Spring 2016: February 16 to May 16, 2016

South America Fall 2015: September 15 to December 7, 2015
South America Spring 2016: February 16 to May 9, 2016

Qualifications:
-Must have extensive experience traveling, living, studying,
volunteering or working in the countries that the group visits (Thailand, India and Nepal or Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador).
-Excellent leadership skills, with experience working with and leading groups.
-Strong Spanish language skills required for South America program.

Responsibilities:
-Develop portions of the trip plans.
-Train group members at orientation for participation in the program.
-Manage day-to-day logistics and budget while on the road.
-Counsel teams members through developing world learning experiences and personal growth.
-Develop and maintain functional team dynamics.
-Lead the team by example during a variety of community service projects, cultural activities, and outdoor adventure programs.

Benefits:
-All expenses paid, including all flights, travel, and living costs while overseas.
-A stipend starting at US $2000 and up, based on experience.
