We’re looking for a talented & hardworking chef to work in our centralized kitchen as part of a team of 3 people preparing meals for our 4 luxury catered chalets in Morzine in the French Alps.
This is a great opportunity for a hardworking & passionate chef to develop skills cooking to a high standard for large numbers of people.
The responsibilities include:
· Helping to prep the key elements of the evening meal on 6 days per week for an average of 60 guests across 4 chalets,
· Following menus and prep lists provided by company exec chef
· Including but not limited to: preparing fresh stocks, sauces, preserves, canapés, vegetables, marinading meat, desserts, specialist dishes for various
· Preparing meals to meet specific dietary requirements & children’s meals.
· Shopping for ingredients, managing stock levels, working to a set menu & budget
· Maintaining excellent hygiene standards within the kitchen; washing up, cleaning fridges & store rooms etc.
· Packing & delivering food to the chalets
Package
· Employment from Thursday 30th November 2017 to Sunday 22nd April 2018
· Salary dependent on experience.
· Full Portes du Soleil season pass (worth c.€850)
· Good standard of shared accommodation
· 1 day full day off per week + time to ski/snowboard most days.
· All food provided while working
· Ski/snowboard hire for the season
· Shared use of a company vehicle
· Carte Neige emergency accident insurance (you will require your own travel insurance with winter sports cover)
· Flights from/to UK/Europe & airport transfers (to/from GVA airport)
· 2 weeks training from prior to the start of the season.
Minimum skills & experience required
· Catering qualification and/or experience working in a professional kitchen
· UK/EU passport, UK National Insurance number & UK bank account
