Situated in the heart of Tuscany, Relais Borgo Santo Pietro is a luxury 5* boutique hotel and spa, featuring 22 individually styled rooms and suites.

Our facilities include Michelin starred ‘Meo Modo’ restaurant and elegant ‘Trattoria sul Albero’ restaurant, a holistic spa, onsite cooking school and natural ‘Seed to Skin’ skincare laboratory, all set in 13 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens.

In addition to this there is also our sister restaurant, Michelin starred ‘La Bottega del Buon Caffe’ in Florence and luxury charter yacht ‘Satori’.

Working in-house the senior florist will work through the 2021 season (May-Oct) to take control of the general day to day running of the floristry department and be the first point of contact for guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities will include:

* Overseeing and maintaining a high level of presentation of all the floral compositions and plants that the department are responsible for. This includes making sure that all arrangements and plants are in keeping with the company aesthetic, flowers are fresh, in the correct colours using appropriate varieties and water in vases is perfectly clean at all times.

* Managing their own time and helping to organise their colleagues time effectively to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and without disruption to the guests or other staff members.

* Completing day-to-day admin tasks such as ordering the correct stock to best minimise wastage, writing staff rotas taking into account workload and using a fair and balanced system for time off and staying on top of any guest requests ie, gift bouquets, small weddings and events, flower lessons etc.

* Organising picking of flowers from the garden, making sure that the correct items are picked and colleagues are left comprehensive instructions as to what they may need on shift.

* Ensuring all plants inside and out are watered and cared for on a daily basis and replaced when necessary.

* Keeping the Flower House clean and tidy, sweeping the floor, conditioning and monitoring stock, monitoring sundries levels, regularly checking that vases are undamaged and that the storage areas are kept organised.

* Leading one-to-one and small group flower lessons with guests and making sure that their colleagues are confident in doing the same.

* Ordering and producing flowers for mini weddings and small events to a high standard and to the guests specifications.

* Ensuring that clear instructions are given to colleagues, offering guidance in the event of any problems and creating a fair, supportive work environment by ensuring that tasks are spread equally throughout the department.

The ideal candidate will have:

– A minimum of 3 years hands-on practical floristry experience

– An adaptable, positive, hard-working attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

– Creative flair, a passion for flowers and a genuine desire to learn, improve and flourish within the industry

– An excellent level of spoken and written English.

– The right to live and work in Italy

We are based in an extremely rural and isolated location so a valid driver’s license would be a plus but not essential.
