Head chef


FRANCE / Chateau Destinée

I am looking for an experienced chef, ideally with Head Chef experience, or wedding catering experience to join our team in early December.

This winter you will be working during the day at our exciting lunch restaurant.

From April to October 2022 this role will evolve into catering for pre wedding events, full wedding day catering and Sunday brunches.

This role will involve:

Leading the kitchen team
Stock control
Managing the kitchen budget
Menu planning
Quality control
Working closely with the front of house team
Liaising with wedding planners and event organisers

Candidate

The ideal person for this role will have a minimum of 2 years previous experience as a head chef or senior chef working in a high-end kitchen and catering for large groups and or weddings.

You will also be able to lead staff with a positive attitude, communicate effectively with your team, colleagues and suppliers at all levels, possess excellent planning and organizational skills and remain calm under pressure.

A good level of English is required and French language skills are desirable but not essential.

Full driving license is essential.

You must be able to work on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve 2021.

The ability to work in the EU is a requirement (either EU passport holder or holder of a French Carte de Sejour)

Package

This role will pay a competitive hourly rate from December to April 2022 and will then be a seasonal contract from April to October 2022 (CDD). The normal working week would be Wednesday to Sunday with Monday and Tuesday off.

For the right candidate the role could develop into a full time permanent position (CDI).
