Compton Volunteers have an opportunity to participate in meaningful community service while living and working in an India community. Compton Volunteers work in reputable schools throughout the Punjab. The schools benefit from your global perspective and you will extend your experience with other community service projects arranged by Compton Education.
Compton Volunteers must be aged over 25 and preferably already have teaching experience. Compton Volunteers receive approximately US$350 per month living allowance. Compton Volunteers provide their own medical and travel insurance. Accommodation, food and transportation (arrival / departure flights; local travel for work in India) are provided free to you by the host school. Compton Volunteers are hosted by one school in which they work for an academic year, usually April – March, although volunteer teachers are required throughout the year. Schools are operated by an Educational Society or Trust (Charity) to whom you are contracted and in this way you are provided with the appropriate visa at no cost to you.
As a Compton Volunteer you’ll join the teaching faculty of the school and work, in all ways, as a teacher. You’ll be the sort of person who is very well organised, highly professional, culturally sensitive and enjoys making every effort to integrate into the life of your school and the wider community.
