The Chateau du Baffy is surrounded by the picturesque Normandy country side and attracts a multitude of school, youth and adult groups between the months of February and October.
Your job will be constantly varied; we need an experienced leader who has gained sound knowledge of all hotel operations; including sales and financial and budget planning. You will be proactive and looking to maximise business opportunities wherever possible. You will be extremely passionate about hospitality, ideally have an interest in history and have be fluent in spoken and written French.
The Chateau Manager role requires someone with excellent communication and customer service skills and proven experience of managing and motivating a team.
Your key responsibilities will involve:
• Managing and controlling all aspects of your hotel to provide an efficient service
• Managing Heads of Departments within the hotel ensuring good communication is maintained throughout, holding weekly team meetings & supporting them throughout the season
• Ensure the company menus are being adhered to & goods ordered are with nominated suppliers
• Ensuring your team is motivated and enthusiastic
• Responsible for staff development and training to ensure high levels of service are achieved at all times
• Implementation of disciplinary procedures where required
• Financial management including budgets, stocks, record keeping and banking
• Managing sales & maximising profit
• Manage guest satisfaction to the highest degree, encourage guests to fill out feedback forms & deal with any complaints
Essential:
Fluent in French and a good level of written
Sound all-round hotel experience
Previous man-management experience
Pro-active approach
Passionate about the hospitality/travel/education industry and customer service
Excellent communication
Proven ability to motivate others
Full, Clean UK driving licence
