INDIA / GVI
Volunteer in India to help orphans and underprivileged children develop through arts and crafts.
Artistic expression can be an extremely important tool in the personal and educational development of children from difficult backgrounds. Through fun and creative activities, underprivileged children have the opportunity to express themselves, explore new talents and develop self-confidence. However, due to limited resources, arts education often suffers in schools and education centres, meaning volunteer support is desperately needed. On this volunteer program you will get involved in developing and nurturing the personal development of children from disadvantaged communities through fun and creative arts activities.
You will spend some time teaching in groups and some time taking one-on-one sessions. Depending on your interests you can work on a variety of activities with the children, from painting or drawing to music or dance, drama or singing to storytelling or creative writing. You will also be spending time developing your own arts project, so there will always be plenty to keep you occupied!
