Waste management and water sanitation (SWASH Project)

The goal of the SWASH ((Sanitary Water Air and Soil for Healthy villages) project is to create a clean and healthy environment in the villages that VIKAS Centre Org works in. SWASH is an integrated project that addresses issues of waste management, water sanitation and recycling using innovation and human resources to facilitate these programs. The SWASH project also connects with local marginalized communities (trash pickers) to help facilitate recycling projects. In this way, VIKAS uses community connections and support to raise awareness about environmental issues.

The SWASH team collaborates with the following VIKAS projects: REstore, Marginalized

Community Empowerment, Integrated Microfinance, After School Program & Girls Club.

Extra skills required for the SWASH project:

Knowledge of, or strong commitment to waste and/or water management.
Related studies and/or work experience an advantage;
Research and negotiating skill;
Capacity to initiate and maintain a project with little resources.
