Jobs Abroad Next Summer With PGL
Please note we wrote this piece prior to Covid (updated for 2021) and hope the information given below is correct. If not, fingers crossed for next year.
PGL begin recruitment for overseas positions in September, signalling the first step on the route for their successful applicants to take up their roles in the UK, France and Spain next summer. PGL have varied roles including in retail, housekeeping, admin, maintenance, instructor positions, and language jobs.
Since 1957 the company has specialised in educational activity courses, school trips, French language courses, children’s activity holidays, summer camps and ski trips, with centres in the UK, France and Spain.
PGL have varied roles for next summer, including in retail, housekeeping, admin, maintenance, instructor positions, and language jobs. Positions are already filling up but the three we have highlighted below are all available now.
Catering Assistant
Catering assistants assist the chefs in preparing meals for both guests and staff, assist with food preparation, serve from canteen bays and keep the kitchen areas clean and tidy. Previous catering experience isn’t required as PGL provide comprehensive training, however among the things they look for are enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Paddlesports Instructor
If past years are anything to go by, most of PGL’s centres in France and Spain will complete their intake of paddlesports instructors early. A UKCC Level 1 paddlesports award is needed to be considered for this position but don’t worry if you don’t have one. PGL hold training courses early next year. Applicants should have previous experience of working or volunteering with young people, boundless energy and a real love of all things outdoors.
