FULL TIME JOB AVAILABLE, WINTER SKI SEASON 16/17 BAR MANAGER
The P Bar/Chalet Alice Velut (100m2 lounge bar plus 4 self-catered holiday apartments) in St Martin de Belleville, 3 Valleys, is looking to recruit a full time MANAGER for the forthcoming 2016/17 winter ski season. Our bar is a very friendly, soulful and family run type place in the heart centre of the village. International clientele of ALL ages. Live Music two afternoons per week. Bar open 4pm – 1am. St Martin de Belleville is a ski station and traditional village in the heart of 3 Valleys ski domaine that attracts a slightly older clientele – 30’s plus. There is a fast growing seasonnaire / worker community of ALL ages.
Position will be from 20 November (ish) through to mid/late April. Private accommodation provided in heart centre of St Martin de Belleville. One full day off per week. Applicant must have a good level of spoken French and bar/management experience is essential. Previous experience of ski seasons very preferable. Looking for a mature, dedicated and reliable professional who will be responsible for two members of staff and given lots of responsibility. Good opportunity to ski by day in vast ‘3 Valleys’ ski domaine.
Key roles and responsibilities (but not limited to):
1. To be the joint public face of our business. You are FRONT OF HOUSE. You need to be well presented at all times and present yourself professionally at all times to a whole cross-section of people.
2. You are the primary point of contact and are responsible for the business and it’s clients (both bar and apartments) when I (Lucy) am not present.
3. Managing and overseeing the bar and one full time member of staff / various part time members. Working in the bar 6 nights per week. Bar closes at 1pm.
4. Managing and overseeing all bar operations.
5. Raising bar revenue and working to hit a bar revenue target figure.
6. Managing the Chalet apartments; meeting and greeting the customers each Saturday, managing them during the week and managing Changeover day each Saturday.
7. Cleaning and turning over one apartment each Saturday morning (changeover day).
8. Organisation of chalet LINEN; storing in stock room and distribution of linen on Saturday mornings.
9. Managing end of night close down in bar; till balancing and banking of monies.
10. Quiz Nights; writing and managing a weekly Quiz Night.
11. Managing Live Music twice per week; contacting bands
12. Managing all stock and deliveries.
13. Placing stock orders for bar and apartments with our suppliers (incl beer, wine, cocktail & bar snacks).
14. Communicating in both French and English.
15. Being a team player. This business only runs successfully with people that work well as part of a team.
