INDIA NICARAGUA TANZANIA / Raleigh International
Raleigh International is recruiting dedicated volunteers, for International Citizen Service (ICS).
ICS is a UK Government funded development programme that brings together young people to make a difference in some of the world’s poorest communities. Raleigh International is working as part of a consortium of development organisations to deliver this programme.
Half the world’s population is under 25. At Raleigh, we believe that if global issues such as poverty, inequality and climate change are to be addressed, young people need to take an active role. Raleigh ICS gives volunteers (aged 18-25) and team leaders (aged 23+) the opportunity to do so.
You could spend 10-12 weeks in India, Nicaragua or Tanzania; working in partnership with local volunteers to empower rural communities and affect long-term positive change.
Raleigh ICS programmes focus on water & sanitation and natural resource management. We work with project partners who have expertise in these areas and will provide your team with training and resources to ensure the work has a long lasting impact.
On returning to the UK, you will have further training to help you to develop a project in your own community called Action at Home.
You can apply for the programme online via the ICS website, www.volunteerics.org. Please mention that you heard about ICS through Raleigh International. You will then be invited to a selection day where you will be assessed on your personal attributes, rather than academic achievements or experience.
Successful candidates will be invited to training and will be asked to fundraise for their place. Volunteers are not required to contribute any of their own money and we will not exclude anyone on financial grounds.

Nationalities Accepted: Applicants must be UK or EEA citizens who have lived in the UK for 12 months or more.
