GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ART/THEATRE LOVERS! A French/American family living in Gréoux-les-Bains in beautiful Provence in the South of FRANCE seek an au pair to help care for their two children aged 10 and 5 years old. Mother and father are theatre artists. Both children go to school full time. They live in a gorgeous 5 bedroom old farmhouse in the countryside that is also a residency centre for other theatre performers. There is a bus stop just 5 minutes walk and the town of Manosque with all the transport and shopping facilities is only 15 minutes drive. Family own a dog and 3 cats. Cleaner employed.
The au pair will have her own bedroom and a shared bathroom. There is an internet connection, access to a computer, free phone calls to non mobile phone numbers (most European countries included). For fun, there’s a trampoline, a tree house and ziplines in the forest. There are lots of beautiful walks to do around the house and we are close to several lakes (Lac d’Esparron and Lac de Saint Croix) and lots of rock climbing areas (Gorges du Verdon). Most weekends are free. A driver is needed and the au pair will have use of a car. The family wish to find a Native English Speaking au pair with a European passport who is interested in the arts, the theatre or music.
We run a street theater company and are sometimes away on tour. At first we brought our kids with us on tour but now that they are both attending school that’s become too difficult – except during their vacations. We’re looking for someone to look after our kids when we are away, to take them to friend’s houses to play or spend the night or join us on tour. We’re pretty flexible and when we’re at home we only need a small amount of help. We know our schedule ahead of time so this would allow the au pair to pursue a personal project or travel. There are also normally lots of people around so they would be lots of opportunities to practice French in an informal way outside of language lessons. Part of the au pair’s job is to speak English to the kids.
We’re looking for someone who’s really flexible as the work schedule can really vary from one week to another. We have an aupair this year and it’s been wonderful. Marie has been able to get in alot of personal travelling between our performances. I’m looking for someone who will speak English to the kids, teach them songs or play games to help them speak English. It would be great to find someone interested in theater or the arts !
