We are a small language centre in Marin, Pontevedra, Spain. Marin is a large town with an important port and naval base on the north west coast of Spain. It is about 3 miles from the picturesque city of Pontevedra, and 15 minutes walk from the nearest beach, (one of many in the area). We are looking for a friendly, hardworking and flexible NATIVE English teacher who is punctual, well organised and capable of dealing with a variety of English needs.
We are especially interested in hearing from applicants with experience, or a keen interest, in working with very young learners,(from the age of 3. We require candidates to have knowledge of both Trinity and English Cambridge exams, their content and their expectations of examinees, even if not direct experience. We are offering 15 CONTACT HOURS, which are very likely to increase to a maximum of 25 contact hours in the near future as demand grows. Clearly these hours do not include preparation and marking. Please refrain from applying if you are not an EU national, do not have a degree or a genuine interest in the position.
Qualifications:
A degree and CELTA, TESOL or a teaching qualification are essential. Other qualifications and knowledge of Spanish are not strictly necessary but an added advantage.
Compensation:
We offer a contract from 1st October 2013 to 30th June 2014, with the possibility of extending this to 31st July 2014. This includes social security and health insurance, and paid holidays: two weeks at Christmas, one week at Easter and bank holidays. The cost of living in Marin is quite low, (flat-sharing 150 euros upwards plus bills, a 3 course lunch 8 euros upwards, etc.). The salary for 15 CONTACT HOURS per week is €650 gross per MONTH, which would increase correspondingly as the number of contact hours increases. Management can also offer additional bonuses for high quality teaching.
