We are one of Northland’s top restaurants, situated on the Russell Waterfront in The Bay of Islands.
The current owners have had the business for 8 years, and have built a strong reputation serving fine food in a relaxed environment.
We are going through a management restructuring and require someone new to take things forward in the kitchen.
We are looking for someone with good experience as a head chef, or a very strong sous from a renowned establishment who wants to make the step up.
There is an opportunity here for a dynamic and talented young chef to create something special and push the case for The Gables as a destination restaurant.
Applicants must:
– speak fluent English
– be familiar with local food trends
– be committed to working hands on – doing services as well as managing the kitchen
– be familiar with food and labour costings
– have experience in a high end/fine dining environment
– have evidence of managing people well
– be creative, and enjoy writing menus
– be able to work unsupervised
A highly competitive package is available for the right applicant.
There is the opportunity for couples to apply if one is an experienced front of house manager.
We are looking to fill this position in August/September.
