Wildlife Conservation Volunteer

NAMIBIA / Oana Flora & Fauna

We lead 2-6 week adventure conservation expeditions in Southern Namibia for young aspiring naturalists worldwide. This is the perfect opportunity to get off the grid, explore true African wilderness with a great bunch of people whilst protecting Namibia’s endangered wildlife. Expeditions are a real mix of wildlife conservation, community work and adventure sports. Conservation is the main focus and you’ll get the chance to carry out everything from mammal game counts on horse back, biodiversity surveys in land and on along the river, eradicate invasive species, develop water points for wildlife and build hides.

The community work is done in Warmbad our local village, you will help implement our food security project, to start a vegetable garden for the local primary school, you will also participate in education workshops. Then comes the real excitement – you will embark on a 4 day white-water rafting trip down the Orange River which is a full of exhilarating rapids through gorges and canyons – if you’re lucky you’ll raft alongside the African clawless otters, afternoons are spent chilling out on sandy beaches, fishing and swimming and evenings are spent stargazing around a bonfire roasting marshmallows. If that’s not enough excitement – get ready to cruise down endless ridge lines on mountain bikes. Expedition season runs from March to November – sign up now for your chance to get involved!
