We are looking for a farmer, or couple/ family, willing to live up in the hills in Catalonia (nearest Airport is Girona). Sunshine, bright crisp winters, some snow and wind, school, shop, and bakery in small village at 5 kms distance. The person/couple would have experience with organic and grass-fed cattle farming, would be enthusiastic, hard-working, honest, kind to animals, creative and cheerful. The hill farm has 95 cows and 3 bulls.
The job would consist of looking after a herd, lots of fence making and repairing, general cattle husbandry, pasture improvement, crop growing, hay making, transport, tractor driving and calving. The salary is negotiable and would depend on dedication, experience and targeting objectives, and includes a house to live in, and all the machinary and tools necessary to work. The paper-work would be done by the owner who would also be near at hand and ready to help. Work would start Autumn 2017.
