Abbey Road Programs – A Los Angeles based summer study abroad programme for high school students that specialises in French, Spanish, and Italian language immersion, art, history, and global citizenship in France, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, and other countries, as well as college/ SAT/ ACT prep in Boston. They seek highly qualified, energetic, dynamic and dedicated individuals for summer and year round positions.
Absolute Africa – Overland company sometimes in need of drivers, aged over 26, with a clean HGV or PSV license.
ABTA – The Association of British Travel Agents comprises 2300 member companies in the UK. ABTA’s search facility, by destination or activity, is a handy tool for finding addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and websites of tourist organisations.
Acacia Africa – Adventure holidays on safari in Africa. Acacia look to employ HGV/PSV drivers willing to work for two seasons in Africa and tour leaders aged between 22 and 35.
Accor – Accor is a hotel and corporate Service group with over 150,000 employees in 100 professions around the world. Jobs include all types of chefs, kitchen hands, stewards, housekeeping, bar staff, storekeepers and front office.
AC Hotels – Over 80 hotels in Spain, Italy and Portugal. Part of the Marriot group, the site is in Spanish. The site used to list vacancies on an employment page but seems to have been removed.
Akena Hotels – Hotels in France and Belgium. The site is in French and the employment information that once could be found here seems to have been removed.
Akzent Hotels – Hotels in the German speaking parts of Europe.
Alliance Abroad Group – Provide many and varied opportunities for arranging shorter term jobs and internships including bar work in London.
Althof Hotel Collection – There were vacancies in Germany, France and Switzerland when we last looked when they had a career page. That seems to be gone now, but there is a map of their hotel locations amongst the corporate stuff.
American Council for International Studies – ACIS organises educational travel for American high school students. They recruit tour managers who should be EU nationals, aged over 21 and fluent in English and another western European language. Their site includes resources for teachers and students.
Anglo Continental – Anglo Continental is based in southern England and specialise in placements for hotel and catering staff in the UK and abroad.
Ascott Group – Job and internship information is provided by this global hotel group.
Baglioni Hotels – Plush hotels in Italy, France and London. Employment information is provided.
Bamboo Bike Tours – They don’t have a jobs page but we know they take on guides for tours in English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian or German. Should you speak one or more of these languages at a high level they may be happy to hear from you.
Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts – Tasteful hotel and leisure facilities in Thailand, UAE, China, Indonesia, Mexico, the Maldives and the Seychelles, among other places. A PDF recruitment brochure is available, along with the email to the group HR department and a list of current jobs openings for positions such as yoga instructor, executive chef and sales manager.
Barcelo – Hotels and resorts in the USA, Spain, Turkey, Central America, Morocco and several other destinations. Applicants are invited to send their CV.
Barkeeper.ie – An online resource for hospitality professionals looking for hotel jobs, bar jobs, chef jobs, training tools, manuals, checklists, expert advice, discussion forum and more.
Best Western International – A global group of hotels. Careers information provided.
Blue Stamp Travel – Specialising in work experience and language courses abroad. Opportunities to work abroad are available for the right candidates who will have strong language skills, confidence travelling and excellent rapport with young people.
Bold Earth Teen Adventures – Since 1976, Bold Earth has offered teenagers an adventure travel summer camp filled with exploration, learning and discovery.Adventure trip leaders are employed to guide a dozen or so American high school students around cultural sites and in activities such as sea kayaking and windsurfing. All trips include one male and one female trip leader who are at least 21 years old.
Busabout – European budget bus service. Positions available include on-board reps and drivers.
Bus2alps.com – Navigate Europe and introduce study abroad students to the most famous places in the world, from the Eiffel Tower to the Swiss Alps and everything in between.
The Camping and Caravanning Club – Find a campsite, or more pertinently for us, a job. Positions include European and worldwide tour escorts, European rally stewards, and camping in the forest site assistants.
Camping Courier – Dedicated to campsite couriers working in Europe, this website has for quite some time been nothing more than a link to a free downloadable book promising a tell it how it is attitude to the job and the campsite companies.
Caravan Jobfinder – Find caravan park jobs in the UK and Europe.
C & M Travel Recruitment – Specialists in travel employment opportunities across all sectors of the travel industry.
Canvas Holidays – Are looking for enthusiastic, resourceful people to work as Campsite and Children’s Couriers on luxury European campsites. British and Dutch applicants welcome. Recruitment also undertaken for other camping holiday brands.
Career in Travel – Courses for those looking to break into the travel industry as a holiday rep or as cabin crew.
CatererGlobal.com – A recruitment website for vacancies in the world’s best hotels and cruise ships.
Cathay Pacific Catering Services – Airline catering.
ChefTalk – A food lover’s link to professional chefs.
Club Europe Holidays – Concert tours, school travel and ski tours. Employment information is available. For concert tours, Club Europe employs tour managers on an ad hoc basis to accompany school and youth ensembles on tour in Europe. Concert tours run all year with the busiest periods being during the spring and summer seasons making these positions suitable for students and teachers wishing to work during holiday periods.
Club Med – Thousands of jobs in sunny places are taken up each year by nationals of over 70 countries.
Colletts Mountain Holidays – Walking holidays in the Italian Dolomites, South Tyrol and the French and Spanish Pyrenees. A small independent company among the staff Colletts recruit are walk organisers, chalet hosts and resort managers.
Contiki – Large tour operator. Jobs information is available on the site and they have in the past been spotted looking for British passport holders with a PSV license to drive coaches around Europe. Post Brexit, the new black/blue British passports won’t cut it.
Cox & Kings – Starting out in 1758 as regimental travel agent to the Foot Guards, C & K now cover the Indian Subcontinent, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, Europe and Australasia.
Dance Afloat – This UK agency places men between the ages of 40 and 70 on cruise ships as Gentlemen Dance Hosts to dance with single women onboard and attend functions.
Dragoman – Overland journeys in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Sometimes recruits crew members who, for training purposes, should be legally able to work in the UK and aged over 25. However, the Become Crew link was a 404 page when we last looked.
Easy Jet – No frills airline. Includes a careers page for cabin crew and pilots.
EMEA Sport – Once part of the TUI group, EMEA organise bespoke premium sports tours for teams anywhere in the world.
Equity Travel – Employ around 100 people each year in hotels and resorts throughout Europe. Recruitment is handled via www.equitytraveljobs.co.uk.
Esprit Holidays – Mostly require staff for the winter but have a few summer jobs going. Recruitment is conducted via the dedicated employment site: www.workaseason.com.
Eurocamp – Friendly, helpful employees sought for the summer. Knowledge of a major European language is preferred or required for most positions. Eurocamp do their recruiting via www.eurocampandalfrescojobs.com.
European Bartender School – A bartender course held in over 20 destinations including Kos, Phuket, Paris, New York and Bad Gastein. They also hire instructors, plus social media and marketing interns based in Barcelona. There is a link to bar jobs through Match Staff too (direct link lower down this page).
Euro Practice – Hotel and catering industry recruitment services. Offices in Spain and in France. The site is in Spanish and French.
Explore – An adventure/overland company with some employment info on their website. There’s nothing available at the time of writing (or when we updated this link a year or so later) but we do see them recruiting every now and then.
Fairmont Hotels and Resorts – Employment in over 60 hotels.
First Choice – Very large tourist operator recruits for both summer and winter. Part of the TUI group.
First Festival Travel – Festival, events and tour operator based in London. We have in the past spotted them recruiting tour leaders and ground crew volunteers for Pamplona, though they also follow events elsewhere in Europe.
Freewheel Holidays – Cycling holidays in Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Czech Republic, Holland and the UK. There used to be a (blank) jobs page on the website but it seems to have gone now.
Halsbury Travel – Organises group, student and school travel by coach and by air to most countries in Western Europe. They used to provide work experience trips for students but a variation on this is now in the hands of Blue Stamp Travel (see above). They also used to offer employment to foreign language speaking students studying in the UK including group leaders to accompany 6th formers on work experience programmes to France, Germany and Spain, language tutors, and telecanvassers. We couldn’t find any of this on our last visit, possibly due to Covid.
HCareers – A job board for the hospitality industry. Search thousands of hotel jobs, restaurant jobs, pub jobs, chef jobs, cruise ship jobs, catering jobs and all hospitality industry employment or post your CV for employers to find.
Headwater Holidays – Recruit overseas reps and instructors who are prepared to be on call 24 hours a day and willing to tackle any emergency. Headwater operate activity holidays in Europe and require staff from April to November and from December to March.
Holiday Rep Certificate – Accredited online training course for holiday rep applicants.
Hostel Jobs – Most of the jobs listed in the very well used jobs available forum are for work exchange positions but there are some paid positions too.
Hostel Management – Created in 2004 by Josh Cohen as a free resource for hostel managers and owners. HM is also a place for people who are looking for resources on how to start a hostel but it is the popular job boards that are of most interest to us here.
Hotel Career – Thousands of jobs for hotel staff.
iDrink.com – Drink mixing tips useful to barmen.
Juliana’s Leisure Services – Supplies professional DJs and flair cocktail bartenders / mixologists to luxury hotels in the Middle East, predominantly Dubai where they have a local office.
Kuoni Travel – Luxuary tour operator with a large range of destinations.
Leger Holidays – Offering escorted coach tours they must employ someone to do the escorting but all we could find on the jobs page when we looked were call centre jobs in the UK for those with an interest in travel and with good geographical knowledge of Europe, the USA and Canada.
Mark Warner – Recruit over 1,500 staff for the Alps and the Med each year. Applicants must be over 19 and hold an EU passport.
Matchstaff.com – International bar work listings.
Med Sailors – Offers skippered sailing holidays in Greece, Turkey and Croatia for 20 to 35s. Through their Yacht Academy, a train to work programme, there are several options to train and start work with MedSailors, depending on your experience level. They also sometimes have vacancies for crew, hostesses and guest managers.
Meininger Hotels – Hostel group. There are numerous jobs offered on their careers page.
Natives.co.uk – The Season Workers’ Website – Ski jobs and working in resorts.
New Experience Holidays – Guided walking holidays in many countries including Switzerland, Spain and Cyprus. Despite expanding greatly in recent years (and since Paul Sawyer sent us the note added below) no information on working for them is offered on the site except to state guides are specially chosen for their knowledge and love of the area in which they are guiding. A Note from Paul Sawyer, MD of New Experience Holidays: “We do not employ any guides, we use only friends.”
Newmarket Holidays – Group, educational and sports travel. Tour managers employed. While there were no vacancies listed when we last visted they state they “always welcome new applicants, so send your CV and an introductory letter to the HR Manager.”
Oasis Overland Adventure Travel Company – Offers overland adventure travel to Africa, the Middle East and South America from 10 Days to 30 Weeks.
Openwide International – A chance to sing and dance your way around the world. Openwide seek talented performers, singers and dance couples for entertainment programmes on cruise ships and in hotels throughout the Med and Caribbean.
O’Reilly’s Irish Pubs – Five Irish pubs scattered across Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. Enquiries for jobs can be made via the contact us page for each pub.
Palladium Hotel Group – Several brands mostly, but not entirely, focusing on Spain.
PGL – Recruit over 2,000 staff to work at activity centres across Britain, France and Spain. Along with meals, accommodation and wages, PGL also offer the opportunity to gain training and qualifications from various rugged sporting bodies.
Powder Byrne International – Site includes an online job application and job description section. Vacancies mostly for winter but there is some summer work too.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises – Hotel and catering professionals recruited as waiters, bartenders, chefs, and stewards.
Ramblers Holidays – Walking and sightseeing tours around Europe for groups of 15 to 20 adults. No employment information on the site but their tour leaders are described as “passionate about walking and discovering the world. All are first-aid trained, holding walking qualifications commensurate with the holiday grade they lead and often have good foreign languages skills.”
Resort Jobs – Search for vacancies by location or keyword.
Resorts Online – No jobs – just an opportunity to search the World’s luxurious resorts. Many will undoubtedly be looking for staff.
Rolling Pin Jobs – You can get the latest jobs in the cruise and hospitality field sent to you by e-mail.
Rum Jungle – Luxury motor yacht based in London that sometimes requires experienced stewards and stewardesses for tours around the south coast of England and northern Europe.
Seabourn Cruise Line – Experienced bar and catering staff often needed.
SeasonWorkers.com – An excellent and well established site offering summer jobs, ski resort jobs and ski instructor courses, teaching English and gap year projects. Search and apply online or try the help guide, message board and destination guides for extra info, each section has an A-Z of companies. Website is updated daily.
Shearings Holidays – Shearings went bust in 2020 but was saved by Leger Holidays. Application forms were once offered via the website to join the group’s then 3000 staff but if they are still there they are well hidden.
Sixth Star Entertainment and Marketing – Provide cruise ships and resorts with entertainment programmes and personnel.
StagePool – Jobs we have seen advertised include a “Benny” keyboard player wanted for an Abba tribute act to tour hostels and resorts in Greece and Turkey, Disney character lookalikes for Disneyland Paris, singers and dancers to perform in cruise ship shows, and female models wanted for educational hairdressing in London.
The Stained Apron – Addictive reading as food servers vent their frustrations and anger.
Steamboat Springs – Resort employment opportunities in the US, plus winter jobs.
The Stewardess Bible – Making life easier for every super yacht stewardess. A free resource for anyone looking to work on a super yacht. There’s a book too.
Summer Jobs – A new website from the highly regarded SeasonWorkers team, offering a search of summer employers from an expansive directory.
Summer Jobs 4 U – Lists jobs from a variety of employers in the UK, Europe and the rest of the World. From bar work abroad to windsurfing instructors in the UK. Part of the 247recruit network.
Suncamp Holidays – Over 200 campsites in Europe. No employment information available.
Sunsail – Team players wanted in the Med. Yacht, watersport and childcare jobs available. Part of the TUI group.
Surfing Great Britain – Occasionally lists surf job vacancies.
Travel Trade Recruitment – A recruitment agency specialising in the recruitment of travel staff for both permanent and temporary travel jobs.
Travel Weekly Jobs – Use the jobs search to find the latest jobs in travel. The vast majority of vacancies are in the UK.
TUI Travel – Recruitment for several travel brands.
UKcampsite.co.uk – The job vacancies page of a caravanning and campsite website. Listings are mostly in the UK but there’s usually a small number offered in France and, sometimes, Spain or elsewhere in Europe too.
The Ultimate Travel Company – State that they are always happy to receive applications and CVs from potential candidates with relevant experience in the travel industry.
Vacansoleil – A Dutch camping tour operator with 30 years experience in the luxury camping holiday market. They work with over 370 campsites in 12 European countries.
Venue Holidays – Family run company offering self-drive holidays with fully-equipped tents and mobile-homes on sites throughout France, Spain and Italy. They employ Campsite Couriers to assist with the running and maintenance of sites and units. Must be out-going, fit and able to work as a team-member or on own initiative. Knowledge of a major European language helpful but not essential. Season runs from March to October but part season positions, for a minimum period of two months, are available.
Woods Travel – Coach and air tours around the UK and to European destinations. Part time PCV drivers with a smart appearance and a full manual licence are required.
