Volunteers needed for youth development projects in Uganda

UGANDA / ICYE UK

Do you have the passion to volunteer with a local community project in Uganda? Do you want to develop new skills whilst experiencing a new culture?

ICYE UK is currently recruiting volunteers passionate about youth development, to support our long-term programme in Uganda.

ICYE UK is an international ethical volunteering charity. We organise incredible overseas placements, ranging from 6 months to 12 months on the long-term programme. As part of an international federation of small NGOs we work with partners in 36 countries across Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe. We believe whole heartedly in developing cultural understanding, supporting communities and building personal development. To achieve this we both send volunteers overseas and host international volunteers in the UK, who support local charities up and down the country.

The ICYE programme is so unique in fostering a true cultural experience that ICYE has been recognised as a United Nations Peace Messenger.

We are currently recruiting volunteers with a desire to help vulnerable young people such as by supporting street children, rehabilitating those with drug and alcohol problems, working with victims of abuse, education, running awareness campaigns and workshops. All projects are run by local people and rely heavily on the support of local and international volunteers to develop their work. Therefore we require dedicated and responsible volunteers.

Whether you’re graduating soon, looking for a career break/change, ICYE provides comprehensive training and support to ensure you get the most from your time away.

The Long Term programme fee is all-inclusive and includes: flights, accommodation and food, travel costs to and from project, health insurance, visas, language lessons and monthly pocket money. Bursaries are also available (£1500 bursary). Applications for the programme are accepted throughout the year.
