Ignitia supplies farmers, at very low cost, a reliable, accurate weather forecast by text message; a first of its kind in West Africa. The SMS is accurate to within 4.5km and appears as an image with some text. We will be rolling this out nationally in June 2014 and require a volunteer to help us train farmers in the northern regions of Ghana how to understand their daily texted forecast and apply that knowledge to the crop cycle.
We require someone who has presentation or training skills or in the teaching profession. No experience of Ghana necessary as in country training will be given.
We will provide all training materials, cover local travel costs (hopefully with a vehicle and driver) and food and accommodation (at local rates). The placement is for about 3 months with a flexible start from June onwards.
