NEPAL / The Santi School Project
The Santi School Project, an all-U.S. volunteer organization seeking teachers/tutors for primary school in Nepal teaching children ages 5 to 13 (specially girls who are often excluded from school.) This is an ethnic Tamang community in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Teaching experience not required – Work alongside a Nepali teacher in teaching conversational English and other hands-on lessons thatmake learning fun (arts, sports etc.)
No time commitment – Stay a couple months or 2 or 3 weeks. The longer you stay the more worthwhile the experience.
Not required to speak Nepali (you will learn some while there) – School open daily 4-5 hours, 6 days per week, Sept. thru March, mid-April to end of June.
-No charge overseas placement fee
-Pay for own travel to Nepal
-Weekly fee-$60 for food & lodging
