Volunteer on Childcare Project in Mexico

MEXICO / GVI

Live and volunteer in Central America, in Mexico’s lively Caribbean beach town of Playa del Carmen.

You will be volunteering in a children’s centre run by Save the Children. The focus is on empowering children to know and apply their rights as well as providing a safe environment in which they can learn and play.

Responsibilities are extremely varied on this project. You will be involved in the overall running of the centre, from delivering health and safety sessions to ensuring the centre is clean and tidy. The centre is coordinated by Save the Children, whose expert staff will provide close supervision.

As well as volunteering in ‘Playa’ as it is affectionately called by the locals, you may also have the chance to lend a hand in centres in other cities in the Yucatan peninsula. Tulum, home to the world-famous Mayan ruins, and Cancun, a holiday-makers favourite, are among the locations in which Save the Children coordinate similar children’s centres.
