PANAMA / Soursop
Soursop Hostel is located on my 1/2 acre farm in the hills of Sortova, located between La Conception and Volcán Barú. It is a small village town tucked into the mountainous terrain. The Soursop Hostel is easily accessible by car and bike or by bus from David (30-45min). Buses traveling to Cerro Punta and Sereno will drop you off at the top of the hill. From there, a short walk down the hill will bring you to a beautiful stream with a small swimming hole- cross the bridge and hike up the hill. Once leveled off-the Soursop Hostel awaits! Total walk/hike is 10-15 minutes.
The Soursop Hostel is not just a hostel, it is a way of life. On the land there are fruit trees, vegetables to pick, and medicinal herbs to indulge in for FREE! It is a tranquil and peaceful day everyday in the hills of Chiriqui.

Volunteering 4-5 hours a day with weekends off (unless something significant requires attention). Everyday is different so duties will change besides some daily duties (outdoor and indoor). Self-motivation is life here at the Soursop Hostel!! I want you to grow and evolve as the Soursop Hostel transforms. I want you to help establish the Soursop Hostel’s foundation through your creative eyes and hands. Create something here that will make you want to return. Volunteering at the Soursop Hostel will be as rewarding as you want it to be-as is life! As a volunteer (and guests), you will be able to pick anything from the land for consumption. In exchange for your volunteering you will have a dorm room bed or hammock. The occasional free meal and free booze when it happens to be around are more positives. Typical volunteer duties will range from reception, cleaning, marketing to painting, helping in the development of projects, gardening, and caring for the chickens with other duties spliced in between- it is life here at the Soursop Hostel!
