This project provides the opportunity to be of genuine service to orphaned and abandoned babies, while immersing yourself in a colourful culture. The primary volunteer task is to provide child care for infants and toddlers (e.g. bathing and feeding the babies, helping them take their first steps, playing games, organizing arts and crafts or sports activities, etc). Volunteers don’t necessarily need care giving experience but must be energetic, enthusiastic and warm hearted. The babies’ home also seeks volunteers with other skills for a wide range of work opportunities (e.g. bookkeeping, office administration, public relations, construction, plumbing, electrical work, gardening, marketing, fundraising and grant writing).
Volunteers pay a one-off administration fee of £65 which includes free accommodation, a volunteers’ manual, airport pick-up (if required), orientation, internet access, 24 hour help and support; certificate of appreciation upon completion of programme. Volunteers will need to budget for their own food.
