Volunteer at a rural children’s home helping vulnerable Maasai girls – Narok, Kenya

Siyapei Children’s Home serves rescued girls and other orphans from Maasai land. Located in the Rift Valley, the Maasai are the dominant tribe, where tribal rites of passage including female circumcision. On the whole this is performed without full consent from the girl and under unhygienic circumstances. This can lead to many health problems for the girls in later life, and many girls want to escape from their village and go to school. This is where Siyapei stands in and gives these girls the opportunity of a safe place to live and an education.

CHASE Africa works to organise all pre-departure arrangements, plus accommodation, meals and transport once in Kenya. CHASE offers 24hr support and offers this placement starting at just £35 a week!
