About these roles:
These are English teaching roles based in China run by the Jesuit Missions, supported by VMM. Although the posts are voluntary, a generous allowance is paid. Airfair, insurance, visa and accommodation expenses are also covered.
Background of VMM:
VMM is a lay Christian non-government organisation (NGO), founded in 1969, whose members share their lives, faith, resources and skills to promote equality, respect and dignity for all. VMM is a membership-based organization based in three regions: England/Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Our founding ethos is based upon ecumenical Christian principles and we work with people and communities regardless of religion, politics or social status.
VMM is committed to building the capacity of our strategic Partner Organisations through four overseas programmes and the Mission Resource Service (MRS). Our overseas programmes include Diocesan Development, Community Development, Education and Health with our main focus being the recruitment, orientation and support of skilled personnel to build the capacity of our Partner Organisations. Our MRS includes providing capacity building to Partners in terms of policies and procedures at home and abroad and/or recruitment, orientation, support and debriefing of personnel for their overseas work.
Background of Jesuit Missions:
The Jesuit Missions work in Africa and Asia in education, development, psychosocial and pastoral work. The Jesuit Missions Office is one of the strategic Partner Organisations of VMM and sends volunteers to Africa and Asia to work in different Jesuit projects specially in the field of education. The Jesuits have a long history of providing quality secondary and third level education around the world.
Required Qualifications:
TEFL qualification.
Desired Skills and Experience:
1-2 years experience of teaching English.
