HONG KONG or CHINA / Hong Kong Young Artists Academy
Teaching English in Southern China and Hong Kong
The Organization
Cultural Sound is an English learning center based in Hong Kong. Due to recent expansion into China, we have multiple teaching positions available in Guangzhou for native English speakers who have a passion in teaching, love children, and are interested in gaining work experience overseas.
The Job
You will be responsible for providing a fun, engaging, and effective learning experience for children of all ages, mainly playgroup (as young as 6 months old) and kindergarten students. This is not a babysitting service; our vision is to help Chinese kids pick up English at a tender age as if it is their native language. Our slogan is “Be smart, Start Early.”
You will have 44 work hours per week, including classroom instruction, lesson prep, training and meetings, with expectations to assist with activities outside of the classroom such as workshops, concerts and English parties. A curriculum has already been developed and you will have access to a wide variety of teaching resources and facilities in an 8000 sq. ft. environment. A bilingual co-teacher will accompany you in the classroom.
The Location
Guangzhou is one of the five National Central Cities in China, the third largest in the country and the largest in southern China, with a population of 13 million. Northwest of Hong Kong, Guangzhou is a key national transportation hub and trading port. There are mega-sized shopping malls with all the famous brands, cinemas and Western style restaurants. Hong Kong is just a short train/bus trip away.
