Come teach English in Palestine!
We encourage our volunteers to experience all dimensions of Palestinian and Hebron culture during their time with the organization. We offer Arabic language courses, taught by a qualified, native speaker. We also arrange cultural activities for our volunteers throughout the year. Activities can include a tour of the old city and other historical sites around the city.
Your work duties will include: coordinating activities, teaching English courses, assisting with administrative duties and strengthening community relations. It is expected that you will work approximately 30 hours per week. All volunteers/interns are provided housing with a local Palestinian host family (if desired). For many participants of years past, the most rewarding part of any program at La Casa is living with a Palestinian host family.
Teaching experience is preferable but not necessary. Instead, we look for university students or graduates who are adept at living in a conservative city, who can demonstrate creativity and dynamism both inside and outside the classroom, and who are willing to go the extra mile to make their teaching site unique and successful.
Length of Stay: 2 weeks – 6 months
