AUSTRIA / Gasthof Hochalmspitze
Got time on your hands? Fancy spending the entire summer (May to September) in the Austrian Alps?
We are looking for someone to join our team for the summer and help run our busy hotel on an internship/work experience basis. Duties are mainly serving evening meals and drinks, so from around 4pm onwards. The days are your own, to explore, relax or study. We offer accommodation, meals and some pocket money (plus a share of the tips). Use of company bicycle included!
Our guests are nearly all motorcyclists; lots from the UK but also from almost any country you can think of. We offer our guests a relaxed and informal atmosphere, so friendliness, flexibility and a willingness to help are more important than experience. There will be opportunities to learn about, and get involved with, other aspects of the hospitality industry, should you be interested. At the end of your stay with us, we will also write you a suitable reference.
We offer the chance to experience life in another country, learn a new language (German) and to see the summer unfold in the Alps. You will be part of our team, which operates in a non-hierarchical basis: if something needs doing we all work together to get it done. We are blessed with wonderful guests and have a lot of fun just being here.
Our hotel is in a small village in Maltatal, one of the most beautiful valleys in Austria. It is a small, close knit, rural community who are used to welcoming visitors to the region. The position would suit someone whose interests are in outdoor pursuits, but would not suit those looking for a busy urban lifestyle.
