Location – St Eustatius St. Eustatius, better known as Statia, is located in the Netherlands Antilles islands of the Caribbean, and is only 8 km long and 3 km wide. It is a tranquil and beautiful island which gives a visitor the feeling of stepping back in the Caribbean of decades past – islanders enjoy striking up conversations, stray goats and chickens wander around the streets and the pace is calm and slow.
Volunteer Requirements: No specific skills are needed, but those with an interest in conservation, tropical botany and sea turtles are welcome to join.
Costs: The cost for 1 month is £690, 2 months is £1230 and 3 months is £1770. This covers all project costs, including all food (300 USD allowance for food per month), camping in botanical garden, 4WD truck use, training, materials etc. Also includes free access to diving equipment and tanks for volunteers helping in Marine Park.
