Gap Assistants are housed in one of our boarding houses free of charge. The accommodation is a basic room shared with another Gap Assistant. Rooms are fitted out with beds, bedding, wardrobes, mirror and air-conditioner. Gap Assistants may share bathroom facilities with boarders. Downstairs there is a communal TV with cable programs and a DVD player, a table tennis and a pool table. There are also computers linked up to the school network and Internet which Gap Assistants can use. Gap Assistants are given their own account so that they can log onto any computer in the school.
During term time three meals a day are provided in the school canteen at set times and all laundry is done free of charge. We award Gap Assistants an allowance of 10,000 Thai Baht per month. This is considered enough to live on. During holiday times, meals and laundry services will not be available.
You are responsible for your own flights and insurance as well as initial visa costs.
A good Gap Assistant will be hugely helpful to the running of our school, particularly with respect to boarding life. They will be an extra pair of hands in the boarding house, an extra English speaker for the pupils to talk to and most importantly they will play a big sister/brother role for boarders. In school, they will be an extra helper in the classroom and extra curricular program.
We need GAPs starting in both January and August 2011.
