At the end of the placement interns may either be offered paid or unpaid work with GVI or with one of our local partners.
How this program makes a difference
During the expedition phase interns will be researching the impact of predators on prey species, recording prey selection, kill frequencies, monitoring movement patterns and competition between residing predators and recording the reserves prey populations, distribution and density. This research is vital in determining the impact of reintroduced mammals and their impact on their surrounding areas and prey species population densities. Research of this kind will play an extremely important part in the management of future conservation areas in Southern Africa.
