NICARAGUA / Magnific Rock Popoyo
Magnific Rock Sous Chef.
We are looking for a sous chef to work in our beach hotel/restaurant in Playa Popoyo, Nicaragua. We focus on surf camps and yoga retreats in one of the fastest developing surf destinations in Central America. Our staff is a mix of international surfers, travel enthusiasts and local Nicaraguans. We live in a tropical climate and see a lot of tourists coming down for a surf vacation.
Some general qualifications:
• Age 25-35
• Personable, outgoing, energetic and respectful
• Spanish skills a plus
• Experience in training staff and coordinating a kitchen
• Must be able to work unsupervised and while having a creative flare.
• Have a passion for travel, adventure and new experiences
This is a great opportunity to explore any culinary ideas and grow as a chef.
Requirements for the position:
• Must be a surfer and love the beach/active lifestyle
• Must be a trade qualified chef in a la carte dining.
• Additional experience in catering bistro and baking is a major plus.
• Minimum of 3 month commitment with possibility of full time up to a year.
• Must still be cooking
This position is a lifestyle job, if you are in search of a high wage need not apply. The package includes:
• Wage comparable to local Nicaraguan wage
• Room and board, +tips
• Use of all hotel equipment (surfboards, SUP boards, etc.)
• Will help pay for travel expenses to get to Nicaragua
