National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russia is seeking to hire a native speaker as a full-time senior translator to join the HSE translation center.
Main responsibilities:
• Translating institutional documentation (internal regulations, foundation documents, grant proposals, agreements, reports, memoranda, etc.) from Russian into English;
• Editing English texts written/translated by Russian speakers
• Controlling the use of a unified thesaurus of terminology in all translations
• Controlling the overall quality of English language texts produced by the translation center
• Contributing towards the development of a bilingual organizational environment at HSE
The candidate is expected to meet the following requirements:
• Native English speaker with advanced Russian
• University degree (preferably language related)
• Extensive translation experience
• Ability to translate at least 6-8 text pages per day
• Excellent writing skills and strong editing skills
• Extreme attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
