Centro Educativo Futuro Verde is looking to hire an adventurous, highly qualified, enthusiastic, and dedicated teacher to lead Secondary English Language Arts in the jungle of Costa Rica
Skills
Hard-working, passionate for teaching and learning
Able to work independently, but with a keen sense of collaboration with colleagues
Adventuresome and resilient with good cultural intelligence skills
Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
Education
BA or advanced degree in education (mandatory) with specific endorsement in English Literature or equivalent (TEFL or TESOL is not accepted)
Category 1 trained in IB Language A: English Language and Literature, strongly preferred. School will provide the training to a qualified applicant not currently trained.
Current teaching license or credential required
Key Responsibilities
Teaching a class of up to 20 seventh to eleventh grade students
Daily lesson planning in coordination with approved curriculum, development of IB English A: Literature Course required
40 hours/week minimum at school site
Regular interaction with parents to ensure that all student needs are met
