Description of the Project:
The project was founded by the local community to fight the hunting and poaching of turtles in their area.

Tasks:
• Supporting the nightly patrols in collecting the eggs of the turtles and data
• Working in the garden and orchards, and contributing to social or environmental activities
• Teach English to the local community
• Work schedule (turtle protection): From the beginning/ middle of March to the beginning of October, 4 hours at night (egg laying season) and garden work during the day
• Work schedule (only community work): 5 to 8 hours per day
• Volunteers have one day off per week

Accommodation, Benefits and Costs:
• You can stay in the project (18 US$ / day including meals and drinking water)
• Proyecto Mosaico organizes your placement in the organization and helps you with the transportation to the project location
• For our work and our services we ask a one-time-only fee of 250€ – regardless of the length of your stay

Requirements:
• Minimum stay: 2 weeks
• Spanish level: Basic, English skills needed
• Good physical fitness needed
• Skills and expertise: Interest in animals and community work; further knowledge and skills will be provided by the project
