Research Field Assistants in Costa Rica

COSTA RICA / Volunteer Latin America

This sea turtle conservation program strives to preserve and collect data on two main species that visit the research sites: the Olive Ridley and the Pacific Green Turtle. It is seeking Research Field Assistants (RFA) for two periods (July to mid-September or mid-September to end of November) to work alongside local and experienced field staff. The work requires lengthy walks on the beach and sometimes long hours, depending on sea turtle activity. RFAs also participate in educational activities and the training/coordinating of regular volunteers. RFA positions are for people with experience of working with sea turtles or scientific data collection with other taxonomic groups. The project is based is an undeveloped paradise with solitary beaches and a stunning tropical forest.

RFAs receive free board and lodging throughout the duration of their stay.
