UK / Outdoor Emergency Care
This intensive 20 hour weekend course covers detailed management of both medical conditions and trauma in remote settings. You will get the chance to practice advanced skills such as spinal immobilisation & IV canulation, and learn through scenario based training, including night exercises.
This weekend is aimed at those planning to work or travel abroad far beyond the call of immediate medical aid. Participants are always an interesting mix – teachers leading groups to Africa, Yachtsmen planning long oceanic journeys, climbers with their minds set on remote first ascents, reporters preparing for hairy assignments, field biologists heading for the rainforest and even a couple running horse trekking holidays in Mongolia. On Remote Care you will learn valuable skills in good company.
