Free Volunteer Places Available for Qualified Teachers in the Maldives (Spaces Limited).
Calling all Qualified Teachers (Primary School would be advantage) if you are thinking of how to spend you summer vacation, then look no further than the Maldives.
Volunteer Maldives is offering a limited number of FREE volunteer placements (usual cost 950USD for 1 month) for Qualified Teachers.
Accommodation/meals/visa and inter island transport will be provided.
We work very closely with the islands we offer, and all the schools have one goal in mind – to improve the English Language for the children ( and adults!). Although English is the second language, and used on all tourist resorts, unfortunately this doesn’t start in the classrooms to the degree they would like.
The schools are very interested in volunteer teachers to take the primary grade children, so I’m sure you’ll be of huge benefit to the island children!
One area we would also like to focus on also is to use the skills of our Qualified volunteers to do some much needed Teacher Training as it is so important that the Teachers have better skills to be able to teach the children and give them the motivation and thirst to learn.
The Maldives is a great place to teach, and immerse yourself in a different culture. The islanders are very warm and welcoming people, who’ll take you under their wings and make you feel at home! Being a very laid back nation, it’s not all work either! During the weekend’s (Fridays and Saturdays) there is always something going on – whether its a trip to a deserted island for a picnic, swimming and snorkelling in clear blue lagoons, or a spot of night fishing – there is always something to do! Some placements are located on islands close to tourist resorts, in which case you may have the opportunity to visit.
We would be happy to offer some long term places as well.
