Project overview

On Call Africa became registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator in June 2010. It has three strategic aims:
1. Provide medical care to difficult to reach areas of Zambia, through the use of mobile medical clinics
2. Provide health education to rural populations
3. Work towards a system of sustainable medical care in target areas

In 2011 a team of medical volunteers travelled to Zambia’s Southern Province to undertake a six month pilot project. During this period, the team conducted medical consultations with over 6000 patients, and offered health education to thousands more. On Call Africa has resumed operations in 2012, currently based in the town of Livingstone, and runs monthly mobile medical clinics in nine rural areas of the southern province of Zambia. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team and coordinate on the ground operations.
