Rural Extension/Schools Education Facilitator, Matabeleland

Ideally, the person would be:
• A Self-Starter with leadership, drive, motivational and team skills, and determination to succeed.
• An agricultural /education/rural sociology graduate with 5 years experience in agricultural extension/farmer training.
• Proficiency in assessing training needs and designing and delivering training for rural communities, farmers and school gardens.
• A proficient facilitator/trainer with the ability to work with farmer groups, schools/teachers and youth/young farmers groups
• S/he needs good community mobilization, planning and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Project Cycle Management (PCM) and preparation of practical Log Frames
• Competent in basic budgeting/course administration/M&E and reporting.
• Good communication and presentation (PPP) skills; proficient user of MS Office Suite.
• A good track record of achievement in the above with solid references.

Initially, s/he would work on a service contract basis (10-12 days per month) for an initial 4-6 months and following satisfactory performance and progress, would be offered a fulltime position with a new Education and Rural Development Foundation which is being registered later in the year in Zimbabwe. This will be professionally rewarding for the right person, leading to a good position in the medium to long-term, within a Foundation that will focus its performance on quality projects and programmes to attain a leading-edge reputation for excellence in Southern Zimbabwe in its early years.
