WORLDWIDE / Planet Eat
Planet Eat (www.planeteat.com), specialist food and drink TV channel, has launched an international competition in pursuit of a fresh new presenter. The global search is seeking someone who is fanatical about food and able to communicate their passion with audiences all over the world.
The #StayAtHomeRecipes competition is open to creative chefs, passionate home cooks or anyone who fancies a shot at the ultimate presenting challenge.
The winner will be invited to the Planet Eat broadcast studios in London where they will be front of camera in their very own 6-part TV show. The series will be broadcast globally on Planet Eat, a Netflix-style channel which launched earlier this year and is already attracting viewers from all over the globe. Available on Apple TV, Amazon Fire and Roku the channel has capacity to reach 250 million people worldwide. In addition, whoever scoops the top prize will also bank £1000 in cash.
So for those that have been lured into the kitchen during lockdown, reinventing dishes from the great master chef’s or creating their very own signature dish, this could be an opportunity to be featured alongside some of the industry’s hottest chefs.
To enter and be in with a chance of getting that dream break as a TV chef aspiring presenters simply need to film themselves on a mobile phone whilst making their favourite ‘stay at home’ recipe. The video should be no longer than 5 minutes and filmed landscape not portrait.
Tony Hindhaugh, director and producer at Planet Eat Media has produced a 13-minute video, ‘ How to be a Food Presenter ‘ to assist those wanting to show off their culinary skills. His video provides tips on delivery, principles of communication and how to film in a home kitchen. Revealing ‘communication to the camera’ clues, the architect of Planet Eat said of the competition, “we want to see personality not just cooking skills”.
He went on to say “ultimately the winner will be someone who is able to convey their love of food with viewers who want to be inspired to cook”.
All video entries must be submitted via the website (www.planeteatmedia.com/competition) by 23:59 (GMT) on Tuesday 30th June 2020. Terms and Conditions apply.
Expires: June 30, 2020
