The English Centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is offering exciting overseas opportunities for a motivated and resourceful Nursery Manager/Teacher and Nursery Nurse to assist in establishing and running an English-speaking nursery school. The English Centre is British-owned with 5 British staff currently providing English language training. The Nursery School would respond to a niche market for the under fives in Colombo in providing unique British pre-school education.
The Nursery Manager/Teacher will have an operational and strategic role. You will have at least 3 years experience of Nursery Management and will have significant expertise with the implementation of the British EYFS Framework. In terms of qualifications, you must have a minimum NVQ3 in Early Years, but preference is for a relevant Degree. You will also need to have strong oral and written skills, good leadership and supervisory skills, expertise in implementing and developing the curriculum using EYFS and able to demonstrate sensitivity and awareness when communicating with parents and staff. You will receive a local enhanced salary of 85,000 Sri Lankan Rupees per month.
The Nursery Nurse will have a Level 3 qualification and experience. You must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the EYFS Framework. The Nursery Nurse duties will include using the EYFS framework in planning and observing, writing reports, ensuring that the children in your care are content and stimulated, being able to multi task and work well with other team members, liaising with parents and working closely with the management team. You will receive a local enhanced salary of 70,000 Sri Lankan Rupees per month.
The contracts are for one year. Return flights are paid, resident visa and shared accommodation are provided.
