ESLstarter are currently hiring for 20 teaching jobs in China starting this October.
These placements are part of a government drive to improve English levels in the two Chinese cities of Chengdu and Suzhou.
Please note – new placements are also available in the following areas:
Suzhou – 10 positions
Chengdu – 5 positions
Foshan – 3 positions
Wuhan – 1 position
Chongqing – 2 positions
Successful candidates will receive full training organized by the local government.
Usually, applicants require two years of work experience after university in order to teach in China. However, as this program is part of a government sponsored initiative, this stipulation has been waived and applicants with a bachelors degree are welcome to apply even without two years of work experience.
Position: ESL Teacher
Arrival date: October
Department: Regional Centers in Chengdu and Suzhou (other locations also available)
Student age range: 15 – 38
Skills & Qualities:
– Bachelor’s degree required
– Outstanding personal/interpersonal communication skills; openness towards cross culture environments
– Experience with technology in facilitating instruction
– Excellent organizational and neatness skills enthusiastic in teaching
– Willingness to be flexible in terms of teaching assignment within the school setting
– Nationality of UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand
Responsibilities of Position:
– 25 teaching hours + 10 office hours per week in terms of the contract
– Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interest, and abilities of students
– Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals, establishes and communicates clear objectives to the students for all lessons, units, and projects
– Support specialized ESL assessments. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provides progress reports as required
– Be familiar with local teaching philosophy and course curriculum
Salary & benefits package:
– RMB 8000+ monthly salary
– RMB 1500 housing
– RMB 1000 (quarterly bonus based on performance)
