Position: Native Speaker English Teacher
Venue: Partner organisation (State Grammar School)
Area: Bonyhád, Southern Hungary
General Duties: Reporting to LT&D ultimately and immediately to the teaching staff at Bonyhádi Petőfi Sándor Evangélikus Gimnázium és Kollégium, you will prepare and deliver lessons in English as a Foreign Language to monolingual groups of Hungarian learners up to official school leaving age and according to the local scheme of work.
Period: September 2021 – June 2022 (dates TBC, applicants must commit to the whole period) during school semesters.
Conditions: Local regular salary of 200,000 Hungarian Forint per month, plus
– Staged payments from LT&D based on work produced for the Diploma in Education & Training of £100 per experiential assignment and £2,500 on satisfactory completion and summative assessment.
– Free accommodation on site
– Access to school canteen during school week (Mon-Fri)
Working Status: As placed Participant. You must be a UK National or be naturalised in the UK.
Training: Local induction to work placement / on-going mentoring
Diploma in Education & Training (DET), delivered through;
12 Experiential assignments, submitted to LT&D,
Weekly virtual training workshops (times TBC outside the working day),
Pastoral: In-person visits by LT&D staff,
Support with travel / insurance / immigration,
Progress reviews against target qualification (DET)
Occasional short-term (2 week) visits to the partner by other trainee teachers on LT&D’s courses.
Profile: First or higher degree,
Minimum GCSE A-C in maths. This can be achieved before start if not already held,
Initial CertTESOL/CELTA and good grammatical knowledge (LT&D will certificate the latter),
Resilience and ability to act independently,
Professionalism and ability to adjust to life in a small educational community,
Approval of candidature by the partner.
