We are seeking a live-in nanny/helper for our 4 year old son who has a diagnosis of Autism. He attends mainstream school and has lovely disposition, happy, cheeky but no challenging or difficult behaviors and popular in school with other children and adults alike.
We are looking for a happy, energetic, caring, reliable, proactive and committed special needs nanny/helper for our son ‘K’, joining our small family in Dubai.
Whilst your role will primarily involve looking after ‘K’, we need you to work in partnership with us to ensure he continues to make strong developmental progress. We need someone to bring enthusiasm, commitment, flexibility and kindness to the role.
We need someone to help us at the beginning and end of the school day – in the morning you will prepare and help him with breakfast, get him dressed and ready for the day before school. You will have time to prepare his afternoon meal and sort out his clothes, toys and room. In the afternoon you will need to spend time playing with him prior to his evening meal and finally get him ready for bath and bed. Within your hours there will be also be time for food shopping, cooking, washing and ironing.
We need someone who is Willing to learn, who is creative and able to work on their own initiative in following through, implementing therapies and strategies and pay close attention to ‘K’s general development. This role does not require extensive special needs experience, but we are looking for someone who has excellent experience with this age group and someone who will understand the importance of consistency and ability to work as part of a small team/family. We are looking for someone who is mature, has understanding of cultural differences, who would welcome the opportunity to commit to a family long-term, and happy to ensure that you go the extra mile in order to meet the family’s and K’s requirements.
You will need to be able to cook, helping family with household responsibilities and errands if necessary. Be a non-smoker or willing to smoke only outside.
You do not need to be English mother tongue but should have an excellent knowledge of English.
You will typically work 7 days a week with 2 days off a month. During the school holidays, or if ‘K’ is unable to attend school for any reason, we will need you to look after him throughout the day. You will have your own private room and shower.
