The Maldives faces some challenging times ahead if they’re to achieve the key objectives of the Health Sector, which are: Reducing the burden of disease, suffering and disability in order to improve the quality of life; increasing the healthy life expectancy of all Maldivians by reducing preventable deaths; and improving the health of present and future generations.Volunteer Maldives has a number of projects for volunteers to help within this sector, and will welcome trained Doctors and Nurses and also for Medical Students, as part of your degree and training we can organize an internship with a larger ‘Atoll’ hospital, where you’ll gain invaluable experience and knowledge of tropical diseases.
