MALAYSIA / Bamboo Bliss Spa
Rimba Resort is situated on the Northern tip of Pulau Sibu Island in the state of Johor in Southern Malaysia.
This relaxing beach holiday resort and dive centre is based on a Kenyan style village and has 21 charming thatched holiday chalets dotted along its 350 meter long private beach. Each chalet accommodation has a fantastic sea view and is only a few steps away from the sandy beach and coral reef, which invites you to explore it snorkeling or scuba diving.
Bamboo Bliss is run as a separate business to the resort but treats the resorts customers.
We are after someone who will have an appreciation for what we are offering, that is; a great opportunity to live, work, travel in Asia and experience life on an unspoilt tropical island in the middle of the South China Sea! It’s a different culture, way of life, languages, food, landscape, climate and you get to meet loads and loads of new people from all over the world!
It is very, very important that our staff can work as a team, have good work ethics and aren’t afraid of getting their hands dirty. We also need to ensure that any foreign staff we have, are open minded and willing to accept and adopt some of the local traditions and customs.
Your duties as one of our massage therapists will include providing high quality consultation and treatments for our guests, organizing bookings, maintaining the spas client database and providing monthly stock takes of products. You will also be required to socialize with guests during the evening encouraging them to book a treatment with you.
We’re looking for someone who is also willing to help out with front of house duties in both the bar and restaurant as required – if the spa is quiet we always need a hand in other areas of the resort.
Bamboo Bliss currently offers a range of treatments from massage & body scrubs to nails & facials.

This is dependent on guest requirements, on public holiday weekends we are always full which would mean the spa is super busy however during the week we tend to be pretty quiet which means you will have a lot more “flexible” time.

The Team: The successful candidate will be working alongside a small front of house team comprised of people from all over the world. At Rimba, we have a staff base of 27, which is a mix of local and foreign people.
We have 21 chalets, at full capacity we take around 50 adults or 65 if it is a mix with kids. The island is quite small & undeveloped; there are around 7 resorts, all similar set up to ours.
