This shelter provides accommodation and support to abused women and children in Johannesburg. They can accommodate up to 120 women (and their children) and provide them in their basic needs, such as shelter, food and clothing. Often these women are referred by the nearby hospitals or other healthcare facilities. When these women arrive at the shelter they are broken and have very low self esteem.
The mission of this Christian shelter is offering revival and healing to abused women and children, so that they can look forward to a prosperous future.
Besides the care they offer, they also have a children and baby day care centre. They also offer workshops to these women, whereby the gain life essential skills.
Internship
As this shelter cannot continue without funding we are looking for a development/fundraising student-intern. The candidate must be well organized, energetic and enthusiastic, with the confidence and desire to talk to fundraisers and have excellent verbal and written skills in English. During your internship you will need to assist with the recruitment of the runners and data capturing the information, research and compile lists of community groups, generate reports, presentations & perform donor cultivation. All together a great opportunity to contribute to the South African society.
